Overview:
ART19 is certified to support Podsights measurement URLs. Podsights can support both our Encrypted Device IP macro or you can choose to pass the IP address of your podcast listeners in the X-Forwarded-For and X-Device-IP headers. Podsights will always check the headers first, so you can skip adding the decryption key to their dashboard if this is enabled.
If using the Encrypted Device IP macro, a decryption key must be provided and applied in the Podsights dashboard to ensure proper functionality. The decryption key is located in your Ad Ops profile under Settings > Configuration. If using the X-Forwarded-For and X-Device-IP headers, these must be enabled by reaching out to support@art19.com.
As with all 3rd Party measurement URL’s, Podsights measurement can be added at both the campaign or ad level. A measurement URL configured at the campaign level will fire for every ad associated with the campaign. This saves you time if you have multiple pieces of creative requiring the same measurement URL.
Step 1: Podsights Campaign Level Measurement
Navigate to the campaign details page and scroll to the bottom to find 3rd Party Campaign Measurement.
To add a destination, press the blue plus button and provide a name for your new Measurement Destination. Then click save. Please note, a Measurement Destination can be called whatever you choose but we recommend using a name that includes the 3rd party vendor
Step 2: Apply Measurement URL
Click on the pencil icon on the top-right of the card to populate the remainder of your measurement destination information.
A typical Podsights tag will look like this:
https://sink.pdst.fm/art19/xxx111nnnxxx111/abx111xxx123nnn/dynamic?encryptedDeviceIP={{encryptedDeviceIP}}&episodeID={{episodeID}}&seriesID={{seriesID}}×tamp={{timestamp}}&_={{random}}
This will come pre-populated with all macros in the proper syntax from Podsights. Simply copy the URL provided as is into the URL field, set to Active and hit Update & Close.
