Overview:
ART19 supports Google Ad Manager (GAM) (formerly DCM) standard and impression measurement ad tag URLs. Click tags and Jump tags are not supported in podcasting.
GAM does not support our Encrypted Device IP macro and the passing of IP address in the X-Forwarded-For and X-Device-IP headers is not required. However, if you require more in depth reporting, including geographic, via these 3rd party measurement URL’s, the X-Forwarded-For and X-Device-IP headers should be enabled. To have these headers enabled please reach out to support@art19.com.
As with all 3rd Party measurement URL’s, GAM tags can be added at both the campaign or ad level. A measurement URL configured at the campaign level will fire for every ad associated with the campaign. This saves you time if you have multiple pieces of creative requiring the same measurement URL.
Step 1: Google Ad Manager Campaign Level Measurement
Navigate to the campaign details page and scroll to the bottom to find 3rd Party Campaign Measurement.
To add a destination, press the blue plus button and provide a name for your new Measurement Destination. Then click save. Please note, a Measurement Destination can be called whatever you choose but we recommend using a name that includes the 3rd party vendor.
Step 2: Apply Measurement URL
Click on the pencil icon on the top-right of the card to populate the remainder of your measurement destination information.
In most cases, the agency who would like GAM ad tags implemented will supply a spreadsheet generated by GAM that contains the tag. The tag URL should be copied from the IMG SRC in the the cell labeled Impression Tag (image)
That URL should be copied into the URL field. The [timestamp] macro will need to be updated with proper syntax for ART19. To update the pre-existing parameter, highlight the entire parameter.
Then click the corresponding button, in this case TIMESTAMP, to update the macro.
Be sure to set to Active before clicking Update & Close.
**GDPR Macros**
GAM recently introduced new GDPR macros. You may see them appear in the end of a tag URL:

These GDPR macros were recently implemented by GAM and will prevent you from saving your measurement URL. These macros allow GAM to track information pertaining to GDPR. It is necessary if the publisher/platform is able to provide consent information using the TCF 2.0 framework, but since TCF is not supported by any clients in podcasting those macros should be removed. The updated macro should look like this:
