Use the competitive separation feature to ensure that campaigns do not deliver ads in the same download or ad insertion point as competing industries and brands of your choosing.
Step 1: Click on the Competitive Separation Card in a Campaign
On the campaign detail page, directly under the Frequency card, you will see Competitive Separation. Click on the pencil icon on the top right of the card to begin editing.
Step 2: Make Your Separation Selections
You can separate by download or ad insertion point, choose IAB industry categories via the multi-select menu, and/or select any brands that have been added to your Ad Ops profile.
If you select a Tier 1 category, your campaign will be separated against all of its accompanying Tier 2 categories. For example, if you separate by download and choose Education (IAB5), your campaign will not appear in a download with another campaign whose brand is categorized as Education: Homeschooling (IAB5-10).
Make sure your brands are correctly categorized for industry-level separation. Click save to record your changes. Changes to competitive separation are captured in the campaign change history tool.
