Importing and Redirecting an Existing Series
If you are importing an existing series from another hosting platform, you'll want to follow these steps to redirect your current RSS feed to ART19's:
1. Redirect your RSS feed
Most hosting platforms will allow you to redirect web traffic from their RSS feed to your new ART19 feed. Some hosting platforms will allow you to do this yourself while others require you to contact their support team. Platforms will typically call this a Redirect, Permanent Redirect, 301 Redirect, or another variation.
In all cases, your hosting platform will require your new ART19 RSS feed, which will look something like this: https://rss.art19.com/your-podcast-name
Most listening platforms will automatically update once they see the redirect on your old feed, subscribers/followers will transfer automatically and listeners will not notice any difference. This usually updates immediately but we do recommend keeping your old feed active for up to 30 days to ensure that all listening platforms update properly.
2. Update specific listening platforms
Some specific listening platforms do not recognize Redirects or require additional steps to ensure they are downloading audio from the proper RSS feed. TuneIn will need to be updated manually and Spotify may require additional steps.
If you would like to make your series available on SoundCloud, you will need to upload episodes separately from ART19. Listens from SoundCloud will not be displayed on your ART19 stats page and you may be required to pay an additional fee to host audio on their platform.
