- [Improvement] Updated campaign pacing controls to better convey their meaning (see details below)
Campaign Pacing Updates
We've updated the language on the Campaign Pacing card to better convey how each setting affects campaign delivery.
Here is a summary of the changes:
- “Off” is now “As Fast as Possible”
- “Dynamic” is now “Evenly”
- “Daily” is now “Daily Goal”
Pacing for a campaign defaults to “As Fast as Possible.” This is the equivalent of when pacing was formerly set to “Off.” This means that ads will be served whenever a campaign meets the requirements for delivery, in order to meet a campaign’s Goal as quickly as possible.
Instead of “Dynamic” pacing, campaigns that are set to distribute smoothly across a campaign are now “Evenly” paced. In an “Evenly” paced campaign, the system continually adjusts priority and pacing to distribute impressions across the total run time in order to meet the campaign’s Goal. If a campaign has more than one flight in its total run time, then pacing “Evenly” will ensure that the campaign is distributed across all of the flights.
Daily Pacing is still available and is determined by the number of impressions in the Daily Goal. Daily Pacing can be set to deliver “As Fast as Possible” or “Evenly” to meet the Daily Goal.
Make sure that you set the Daily Goal high enough that it will meet the total Campaign Goal when multiplied by the number of days in the Run. When the Daily Goal is too small to reach the total Impression or Spend Goal for a campaign, a warning message will appear.
