The Distribution feature allows you to publish an episode immediately, schedule a future release date, unpublish an episode now, or schedule an episode to be unpublished later.
To publish an episode, click the edit button, then select Published to immediately publish the episode, or Scheduled to input a future release date, then click Update & Close. Note: you cannot publish an episode without a media file, but it can be scheduled.
The timezone is set to your local setting. When you schedule an episode for future release, the episode status will be "Scheduled." When that date and time is reached, it will be published to your RSS feed and available on listening apps. You can also use the Scheduled option to back-date an episode. This will allow you to re-order the episode in the feed, as they are ordered according to publication date.
You can also schedule an episode to be unpublished at a future date. This can be useful if your episode uses copyrighted music with a limited license, if it's temporarily promoting the launch of another show, or if it's only available to the general public for a limited period. To set an end date, click the edit button when your episode is Scheduled or Published, then select Specific Date, or # of Days after Release Date. When this date is reached, the episode will be removed from your RSS Feed. If you are accessing data via the ART19 Content API (link) the episode'sPublished
status will remaintrue
unless the episode is manually unpublished.
