Follow these steps to remove a stale ad that is embedded in an episode. When an embedded ad is labeled stale, ART19 will excise this part of your episode audio, removing it for all listeners, and save a copy of your stale ad in the Ads section located on the left hand side menu bar.
Step 1: Navigate to edit mode within an episode and highlight and label stale ad
Navigate to the episode you'd like to edit by clicking on Episodes in the left side menu bar and select the episode. Scroll down to WarpFeed where the visualizer displays your audio file, and click on the pencil icon on the top-right of the card to begin editing. If you are already in edit mode, then you'll see these options .
Using your cursor, click in the audio visualizer to highlight the start and end points where the stale ad audio occurs. Two selection boxes will appear and you can edit your start and end timestamps here.
Then click “New Marker” and select “Embedded Ad” from the drop down. Your new embedded ad will now be highlighted in orange and you'll see more details listed below about your embedded ad. Select Stale Ad from the dropdown under Type, name the ad, and click Save & Close.
Step 2: Add an Ad Insertion Point (optional)
Once you Save & Close your new stale ad, you'll see a pop-up asking if you would like to create a new ad insertion point for the embedded ad. Clicking yes will add an ad insertion point directly in front of the embedded ad. If you only want to remove the ad but do not want to serve a new one in its place, click “No.”
If you add an ad insertion point, be sure to set the parameters accordingly, then click Save & Close, and be sure to lock your changes by clicking Process Changes.
