This article will show you to build a dynamic ad campaign in ART19 that targets a specific episode only, similar to a baked-in ad, sometimes referred to as a faked-in ad.
Step 1: If you haven't already, Create an Agency and Brand for your campaign
Navigate to the "Agency" page on the left side menu bar under "Organization" within your Advertising Profile.
Select the blue plus sign in the top right corner of the "Agencies" page. Name your agency, and click "Save".
Within your new Agency, click the blue plus sign to add a brand. Name your brand, select your brand's industry, and click save.
Step 2: Create your campaign
Navigate to "Campaigns" on the left side menu bar.
Click the blue plus sign or "New Campaign," name your campaign, select the corresponding Agency and Brand, select "Standard," and click "Save."
Step 3: Set up your campaign's flight under "Run"
Flights determine when your campaign is available to run. If you want your campaign to only run for a specific time, you can choose Week, Month, or Custom flight, selecting your specific start date and time and your end date and time.
If you'd like the ad to run indefinitely like a baked-in ad, choose "No End Date".
Step 4: Select series to target
Click the blue plus signin the "Series" card to select which series you'd like to connect to this campaign.
When you've selected your series, click "Create." You'll be taken to a page where you can choose specific parameters for your campaign on a series level.
For this purpose, you can skip down to the Episodes Card and click the pencil icon.
Step 5: Select the episode to target
On the Episodes Card, you can select the specific episode for the campaign to target.
An episode must be published to be targeted (this includes "pending" and "planned" episodes as well). The system will not allow you to target an unpublished episode.
To include or exclude episodes you'll want to click the Add Episodes button, and select the desired episode to include.
Step 6: Add Positions
Click "Add Positions" or the blue plus sign in order to select Ad Insertion Point positions to target within this series.
This can be as broad as pre-roll, mid-roll, or post-roll and as specific as Pre-roll Number 2, Position B.
*Your campaign will not fire unless you've selected at least one AIP position at the series level.
Step 7: Upload Your Ad Creative
Click the blue plus sign on the "Ads" card, name your spot, then upload your file into the WarpFeed. You can also specify 3rd Party Tracking at the Ad level.
Then, click on the Publish button located in the top blue banner that will pop up once your ad audio is uploaded. You will automatically be brought back to your full campaign page to review your campaign.
Step 8: Schedule Your Campaign
Lastly, click on Schedule located in the top orange banner. Your campaign is ready to go and will turn active when your flight starts.
